Reveal Service vs. Deepscan
Operators may choose to license Reveal Service or Deepscan. Either may be combined with a Counterspy subscription or licensed standalone. Both Reveal Service and Deepscan extract the forensic watermark embedded in the video, if present. However, they differ in the following way:
- Reveal Service is for those operators who operate their own web crawling service or have their own anti-piracy team. Those operators can upload suspected leaked videos to Reveal Service to have the watermark extracted and revealed, if any is present.
- Deepscan is for operators who want to take advantage of anti-piracy services provided by a Verimatrix partner. In this case, the anti-piracy partner provides its own web crawling services and uses Deepscan backend APIs to submit composite images derived from suspected leaked videos. Operators can see the results directly on the Deepscan web console.
In both cases, an operator can see the watermarking payload of successfully extracted watermarks and – if combined with a Counterspy subscription – can identify individual app instances responsible for the illegal content recording.
